Scripture to Meditate on, Mark 6:3-4

Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.” – Mark 6:3-4 AV.

Mary had other children, Proving the Catholic church is in error. The perpetual virginity of Mary is one of the four Marian dogmas of the Catholic Church, and states that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was a virgin ante partum, in partu, et post partum—before, during and after the birth of Christ. In Western Christianity, some LutheranReformedAnglican and a few other Protestant theologians adhere to the doctrine; Eastern Orthodox churches recognize Mary as Aeiparthenos, meaning “ever-virgin”. Modern Protestants have largely rejected the doctrine. Of course we as Baptist do too, as it is clear in the Word of God that Mary had other children.

Scripture to Mediate on, Psalm 37:7-11

Category:Spiritual Tags :

7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth. 10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. 11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.” – Psalm 37-7-11

Scripture to Meditate on, Matthew 27:50-54

Category:Spiritual Tags :

50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. 51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; 52 and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, 53 and came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. 54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.” – Matthew 27:50-54 AV.

We no longer need the high priest to access God, the veil ripping in twain signifying we now have direct access to God through prayer. “But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:” – Hebrews 9:7 AV. “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” – Hebrews 4:16 AV
